Outdoor Adventure in ATX

Brian and I have really been trying to get out and about more! We have some amazing mountain bikes and we both love hiking (some of the highlights have been hiking Guadalupe Peak and 10+ miles through Rocky Mountain National Park). Over the last few weeks, we’ve been quite a few places. Here’s a quick recap of the fun things we’ve done:

Something exciting happened yesterday – I got a new phone! I’ve been using my new iPhone 7 Plus’ portrait mode nonstop. It’s pretty impressive. I played around with it this morning at the bike track in Cedar Park.

We’ve been to Brushy Creek a few times in the last couple weeks. It’s our favorite local place to ride our bikes. Last time we were there, the Bluebonnets were amazing!

While picking up my bib for the Cap10K (read about my latest race here), we decided to do a quick loop around Town Lake.

To prepare for my school’s field trip to Barton Springs, I wanted to hike the trail ahead of time. We walked the Violet Crown Trail starting at the Barton Creek Greenbelt trailhead. It was SUPER hot, and the first part of the trail there isn’t covered by shade, but we managed to make it a few miles.

Of course, we end our active days in the best way possible. I can always count on Brian to grill something incredible on his Weber grill!
