Coffeehouse Explorations (ed.4)

The following blog is one of many in a set called #CoffeeHouseExplorations.  Click the hashtag to see them all. I’m a teacher and I don’t like doing school work at home. I need home to just be for home. Since my KIPP campus is way out in east Austin, I pass by SO many cool places on my way home. I’m exploring them one at a time.

Sa-Ten. Loved it. It’s a unique coffee shop at Canopy Austin.

Canopy is a community of artists, gallerists and other creative types, located on almost four acres on the east side. The centerpiece of the property, a former Goodwill warehouse, has been carved into three buildings to create 45 small studios, three galleries, several creative offices and a café/coffee shop. Removing a portion of the building created an outdoor common area that ties the center together.

Sa-Ten offers a bunch of different drinks, along with a pretty large menu of Japanese inspired bowls, plates, and toast. There’s lots of space to work, inside and out. I’m loving the industrial vibes. I ordered a chai tea latte. They have a lot of tea from Zhi Tea (which you know I love). The latte was a little sweet for my taste, but I like my chai spicy and pretty much not sweet at all. It was very good though.
