Irene’s

For my birthday this year, I went to Irene’s downtown. They offer a variety of comfort food in a very unique atmosphere. Their website says it best:

The muse for Irene’s, a classic American bar and restaurant, is the grandmother of one of our partners, who describes the real-life Southern charmer as a “drinking, smoking, gambling woman with an immense heart and a keen understanding of true hospitality.” Irene’s has the soul of an unpretentious dive bar but manages to keep a firm hand on service, a keen eye to hospitality and a pulse on style.

I got their avocado toast (obviously) and it was wonderful. Loaded with avocado and feta cheese… I was in heaven. They also gave me a birthday soft serve, complete with lit (when I got it) candle and sprinkles! I thought that was so nice of them.

Irene’s also has a Biscuits and Booze Brunch. What more do you really need to know?
