Last weekend, I went to The Peached Tortilla to check out their brunch menu! Their menuĀ “is based on simple Southern comfort food with an Asian flair” which creates some really interesting brisket/kimchi dishes. They started as a single food truck, then moved to brick and mortar on Burnet, and now have a full catering service. At their brick and mortar, they have fun nights like “Fried Chicken and Whiskey Wednesday” and “Ramen Thursday.” Also, I love their neon peach sign outside.
The interior is as peachy, with yellows and oranges on the walls. Their coffee was delicious and was constantly being filled up. I have a thing with my drinks at restaurants… I do not like when it have empty glasses! Thanks to my waitress for making sure my mom and I always had full coffee cups.
My dad ordered the Korean Steak and Eggs Bowl, which has sous vide hanger steak, sunny side up egg, kimchi, egg furikake, and rice.
I had a really hard time choosing between the brisket eggs Benedict and the the brisket hash. Because I’d had a brisket breakfast sandwich at Holy Roller just a few weekends before, I decided to go with the hash. I 100% cleaned the skillet. The gooey egg mixed with sweet potato and brisket was delicious.
We did make a reservation and I would recommend you do the same. We went at 12:30 on Sunday and it was definitely crowded, but it wasn’t overwhelmed with people. Next time, I think I’ll go during their Social Hour to try some of their cocktails. Social Hour happens at the bar from 5-7pm Tuesday-Sunday. Also good to keep in mind, The Peached Tortilla is closed on Mondays.
