Still Austin Whiskey Co. launches its flagship straight bourbon whiskey!

After six years in the making, Still Austin Whiskey Co. has finally launched its flagship straight bourbon whiskey! I’ve been a fan of Still Austin for a while now – I’ve toured their distillery, celebrated the launch of their Sherry Cask Finished Bourbon Whiskey, and sipped on their rye gin on World Gin Day. When Still Austin told me they were ready to release their straight bourbon whiskey, I knew I had to try some!
Thanks, Still Austin Whiskey Co., for the incredible media kit! While I did receive a complimentary bottle, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Still Austin is committed to a grain-to-glass concept, which means everything is done in house. All grains are grown by Texas farmers, and then milling, mashing, fermenting, distilling, barreling, and bottling is done in their Austin distillery (located at The Yard).
What I love most about Still Austin’s straight bourbon whiskey (besides the taste) is the label art. Native Texan Marc Burckhardt was commissioned by Still Austin to paint a series of portraits of “archetypical” Austinites. This is “The Musician.” The Musician – along with future archetypes like the Naturalist, the Writer, the Visionary, and the Artist – celebrates the innovative people who make this city what it is.
To top off this amazing kit, there was a record included! The owner of End of an Ear, a cozy Austin record store stocking a diverse array of new, vintage & rare vinyl records, plus CDs & DVDs, curated a list of Austin musicians for Still Austin’s media campaign. My record was from Blaze Foley. Such a cool touch.
Still Austin’s new straight bourbon whiskey is now available online and you can pick it up at their distillery curbside! Personally, I’m looking forward to collecting the whole Austin Archetype set. Keep ’em coming!
