Welcome to another edition of Austin Eats Round-Up! Think of these posts as little glimpses into where I’m going and what I’m loving right now. I’m back working at school 5 days a week, which means I’m out and about for the first time since March. Of course, I’m always extremely cautious – I order takeout/curbside when possible, sit outside at well-spaced tables, and always wear my mask. I’ve been on a couple of patios lately and I must say, it feels really good to be OUT and DOING THINGS again.
I know things are constantly changing with COVID, but as for now, I’m open to doing outdoor activities! Comment on this post or over at @discoveringATX with your favorite patios/outdoor Austin activities!
And with that, let’s get into it!

Burgerlicious
1108 east 12th street, Austin, Texas 78702
I’ve written about Burgerlicious before, but I have an update – They’re now located at Arbor Food Park! It’s an awesome outdoor space with plenty of picnic tables, big trees, and string lights. Other great trucks at the park include El Tigre Coffee, Rosarito Tacos & Ceviches, Cuantos Tacos, and Dough Boys (who I’ve also written about before). Burgerlicious is a tasty burger truck with some INCREDIBLE vegan options. Beyond their wonderful burgers, they’ve been experimenting with lemonade and limeades which look delicious! The owners are so kind and often do happy hour deals/discounts on their Instagram page, so be sure to follow them! Pictured below is their Harmoney Burger with Fries: 1/3 pound all-beef patty, American cheese, grilled onions, bacon, mayo, tomato, and lettuce on a toasted bun.
Duck Donuts
18616 Limestone Commercial Drive, Suite 250, Pflugerville, TX 78660
I can’t believe I haven’t written about Duck Donuts before. I went to their grand opening in March and I’ve been hooked ever since. They’re my favorite donuts in the Austin area.
I’ve never been one to seek out all things “pumpkin spice” at the start of fall. However, this year, I’m looking for anything special and right now, that excitement is coming from Duck Donuts’ new Fall Assortment! It’s SUCH a tasty lineup. Duck Donuts are always vanilla cake donuts – it’s the icings and toppings where they shine. My favorites from their fall assortment were the two that featured their new pumpkin icing – Pumpkin roll, and pumpkin streusel. Other flavors in the fall assortment include apple Pie, maple bacon, cookies & cream, salted caramel, caramel apple pie, glazed, peanut butter paradise, cinnamon sugar, french toast, and midnight madness. I cannot WAIT to see what they put out for the holidays!
I also want to make a plug for the Pflugerville Duck Donuts in particular. Their service is A+. When you arrive, you order outside (full picture menu is on the window). Then, you can sit in your car and wait for your delicious donuts to be handcrafted. They’ll run them right out to you!
Easy Tiger
3508 S Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78704
Easy Tiger just opened their newest beer garden on South Lamar (at the old Red’s Porch). I went with my parents and was pretty happy with their safety procedures. They have lots of tables spaced out outside and QR code menus. We sat at a corner table outside and had a great evening! There is a little bit of parking in front, however, there are several close businesses that you could probably park at no problem. I parked at In-n-Out Burger across the street. Obviously, I recommend the pretzel and LARGE cheese. What was I thinking… always get the large cheese, Kelly!
Taste of Koko Pop-Up at 101 by Teahaus
6929 Airport Blvd #132, Austin, TX 78752
No shame – I love a good Instagrammable pop-up. This particular pop-up is cute AND has a good message behind it! Austin blogger Jane Ko partnered with 101 by Teahaus to do a Taiwanese pop-up aimed at supporting Asian restaurants during the pandemic. We ordered the Galaxy Drink (jasmine boba milk tea with butterfly pea flower and Tiger Milk Tea (brown sugar boba milk tea), the fried chicken nuggets with Thai basil, and (of course) the matcha green tea bubble waffle. The pop-up will be running through Saturday, November 14th. Make plans to stop in soon!
Los Olivos Markets
306 S Main St. Suite 104, Buda, TX 78610 // 13904 Ranch Rd 12, Wimberley, TX 78676
So, I haven’t been to Los Olivos Market in person yet, but I was lucky enough to try some of their original market products! You can purchase them on-site, or you can order them online.
First, I tried their Pineapple Jalapeño Cocktail Mix. It has just enough sweetness to balance out the jalapeño kick! I mixed mine with some tequila and YUM. Tasted like I actually knew what I was doing. Next, I tried their Salted Caramel Toffee Sauce. I drizzled mine over some ice cream, but you could dip fruit in it, pour it over waffles, spread it on toast – whatever you want! I love anything that has that sweet and salty mix.
Los Olivos have two locations – one in Buda and one in Wimberley. They strive to redefine what a true marketplace should be by bridging Old World tradition and Texas Charm in everything they do. Have you been to a Los Olivos market?
Humble Pint
11880 Hero Way W., Ste 208, Leander, TX 78641
Guys… is Leander… cool? I’ve noticed quite a few places opening up in Leander lately and I am loving it! I went to Humble Pint, just a few miles from my house, and enjoyed a delicious pizza and flight while socially distanced on their patio. The patio space is small, but I bet if you go at off hours, you could get a spot! Humble pint has some pretty extensive safety procedures in place indoors as well – social distance markers on the floor, saran wrap over the credit card signature pad, ample sanitizer… all good! As far as beers go, my favorite was actually their #BlackisBeautifulBeer. Be sure to add that to your flight when you visit.
That completes another Austin Eats Round-Up!
As I start to get out to more patio dining, please tell me – what have I missed? What new restaurant patios are out there that I must try? I’ve seen like, a whole new area on South Congress has opened up?? I’m so out of the loop… Fill me in!
