Went to Ski Shores on the lake for the first time last week! This laid-back, lakeside restaurant is so fun. It’s been around since 1954 (YEP 1954) and is an awesome spot to grab lunch, dinner, or drinks. It’s a perfect mix of classic good food and incredible lakeside atmosphere.
Thanks for hosting the media event, Ski Shores (and for organizing it all, Big Thirst Marketing)! And thanks for the awesome boat ride over, Float On Boat Rentals! While I did receive complimentary food and drinks, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
They have a simple, easy-going menu with staples like fried pickle and beer-battered onion ring appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, baskets, and salads. At their location on the lake, you can even grab breakfast tacos on the weekend! I got their fish tacos and onion rings. The onion rings were A+ absolutely delicious.
For drinks, they have a pretty wide variety of beers, wines, margaritas, frozen drinks, and signature cocktails. I’m always a fan of frozen drinks, so I went with the Brainfreeze (a swirl of their frozen margarita and frozen fruit punch) and their Chill Chilada (beer topped with frozen margarita).
We traveled by boat there (yep, you can dock your boat right at the restaurant!) thanks to the awesome people of Float On Boat Rentals. Seriously, if you’re going to rent a captained boat around the lake, I highly recommend Float On. Both our drivers were so nice and personable. They have Yeti coolers on board so you can bring your own drinks! They’ll stop and let you swim, take your photo for you, fill you in on all the celebrities that live along the lake… basically, all you’d have to do is show up and have a good time. Float On will take care of the rest! If you’re not so lucky to drive your own boat to Ski Shores, fear not! You can drive along the scenic City Park Road to get there.
In addition to food and drinks, Ski Shores does live music on their stage over the lake and movie nights around their bon fire.
Thanks for hosting such a fun afternoon, Ski Shores and Float on! Special thanks to Big Thirst Marketing for setting everything up for us!
(Did you know there’s ALSO a Ski Shores in town on Barton Springs??)
