Day Trip to Marble Falls, Texas

Let’s day trip to Marble Falls, Texas! I’ve driven down HWY 281 tons of times, but if you dip off the main route just a block or two, you’ll discover a bunch of fun spots!

Start with Numinous Coffee. This cute little coffee shop has an excellent selection of pastries and breakfast sandwiches in addition to coffee, making it the perfect place to start your day.

After coffee, make your way down to Birdie’s Market. They sell fine furniture, curated antiques, vintage pieces, linens, art and so much more. They also do design services! The owners and staff are SO kind and will help you with whatever your design/shopping needs are. There are a few buildings that make up Birdie’s Market, but I highly recommend visiting their Garden Room. It’s a micro nursery with unique plants, containers, and gardening tools.

My little plant and container cost less than $25, which blew my mind for being such curated little boutique. I highly recommend stopping in when you’re in need of a unique gift or a statement piece of for your home!

Continue walking around the Marble Falls downtown area, shopping, and grabbing some mid-day refreshments from Ragtime Oriole, a beer from Downtown Beer Hall, or a whole pie from the iconic Blue Bonnet Cafe.

Then head to House of Cheese for some cheese and wine snacks. House of Cheese is a small cheese shop located just off Main Street, known for their selection of artisan cheeses from around the world and it’s the perfect spot for a casual lunch. Grab a glass of wine, then choose from a charcuterie board, a fruit & cheese crostini, or a sourdough grilled cheese (or all three!) and ENJOY! Cheers!

Walk down the street to the Fiesta Wine tasting room. Do a tasting flight to see what you like best! When the weather is nice, their outdoor courtyard area is awesome.

After a few drinks, head to The Oil Tap to do some tastings and shop for unique gifts! How much do you know about extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar? Sure, you know you can put them on salads and use them as meat marinades. But what about over cheese? Or as a topping on waffles, cakes, or even ice cream??

These are all things I learned during a FREE tasting at The Oil Tap. My mind was blown by the endless culinary possibilities of good, flavorful extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

I sampled 14 different types (and ended up buying a mini bottle of Habanero Cherry balsamic vinegar) including a Bourbon balsamic vinegar that was aged in bourbon barrels and their kalamata extra virgin olive oil which is absolutely PACKED with polyphenols (seriously, like, take shots of this stuff). They’d be PERFECT for gifts! In addition to free, walk-in tastings, you can book all kinds of workshops. There’s so much to do at The Oil Tap!

The Oil Tap is woman-owned and they focus on stocking their store with other woman-owned, natural products. All the more reason to stop in!

Finally, it’s time for dinner at Bear King Brewing. This local brewery has ample indoor and outdoor seating, along with an excellent selection of beers and food. Their jumbo pretzel is JUMBO and the fried chicken sandwich is delish. There are lots of great beers to choose from (get a flight!) but my favorite is the Wandering Blonde.  It’s become a Marble Falls staple for sure. And their merch is so cute.

On your way out of town, stop at Save the World Brewing. Save the World Brewing (@stwbrewing) is a must-visit if you’re out in Marble Falls, TX. Relaxed, comfortable vibes and kind, helpful, personable staff make it THE place to enjoy a beer.

I had a flight that included their Cerveza TX Mexican Lager (my favorite – SO good), the Wake Jumper Helles, the Party In The Abbey Belgian Strong Blonde (8.7%!), and a Pumpkin Stout (surprisingly tasty).

The environment out at Save the World Brewing is so chill and I loved it. Bring a book, bring a deck of cards, and just relax with a pint. They’ve got a good outdoor space with a covered patio and kids play place. I’m often creating content like this solo, so I always make note when a place makes me feel safe and comfortable while dining alone as a woman. Save the World Brewing is one of those places! The staff was so kind and friendly and the vibe of the patrons was the same.

WHEW! Who knew there was so much to do and see and eat and DRINK in Marble Falls!? I can’t wait to go back and check out even more spots. What other Marble Falls things are we loving right now?
