Guys! Cedar Park is cool! I’ve never had a problem driving from up north into Austin when I felt like going out, but more and more places are popping up that make it super easy and convenient to have fun in Leander and Cedar Park!
The Good Lot is one example. It’s a family-friendly beer garden with a variety of craft beer and ciders, as well as wine, seltzers and domestics – 24 taps in total. They have a large open-air covered space, big screen TV (we went during a UT game – it was packed!), and a large yard space with tables, trees for shade, yard games, and a play area for kids.
Of course, the more dogs the merrier. We brought Winnie both times and she did great! Kids absolutely love her and she’s so good with them.
The events calendar at The Good Lot is packed! They do live music on the weekends, all-day happy hour on Mondays, trivia nights, BINGO, open mics, and food trucks every day of the week! I’ve still got to try Tacos la Catrina and That Burger.
For food, I usually always eat at Fez Mediterranean. It is so good! The potatoes are insanely delicious and I will be eating them daily from here on out. Brian also loved the chicken wings! If you go with skewers, I preferred the chicken over the lamb and beef.
From their website… “Owners Mario Fortuna and Alexandra Lee met and worked in New York for several years before moving to Austin to settle down and open something on their own. With their background in fine dining as chef and sous chefs of iconic restaurants in NYC such as Majorelle, New York Times 3-star La Grenouille and Michelin Star Caviar Russe, it is not surprising they would create a unique menu full of unexpected flavors.”
How awesome is it to have such talent cooking up delicious meals so accessibly in Cedar Park??
When I’m not getting Fez, I’m getting The Rice is Right’s Korean Fried Cauliflower Box (white rice, crispy cauliflower with sweet tangy spicy sauce, ginger slaw, add a marinated ramen egg). They also have bulgogi beef and Korean Fried chicken. I don’t have any photos (because I devour it so fast every time!) but their coconut rice pudding dessert is to die for.
If you’re in need of a sweet treat, Bare Pops just opened a trailer! They’ve been at the Good Lot for a while now selling frozen pops from their cart, but now they’ve got a full on trailer. They’re planning to expand their menu a bit from popsicles and I can’t wait to try it again!
The Good Lot also has good parking, nice bathrooms, kind bartenders… it’s one of my favorite spots to chill in Cedar Park! If you’re visiting on the weekend, maybe bring a picnic blanket just in case. It was pretty packed last Saturday during the UT game and nearly every table was taken. There’s plenty of lawn space, though.
Attention businesses who want to come to expand to Cedar Park/Leander – if you build it they will come!
