The Vineyard at Florence is less than an hour from downtown Austin. Have you heard of it?? I didn’t even know this spot existed until Brian brought me here for my birthday! The Vineyard at Florence makes for an awesome wining and dining experience when you don’t feel like driving all the way to Fredericksburg. Just take a quick jaunt out of town to Florence, Texas!

Farmer’s Commons is the restaurant on site at The Vineyard at Florence which focuses on farm-to-table freshness. They pull tons of veggies and herbs from the gardens right outside the restaurant. The vibes are nicer than your average spot, but the atmosphere is still friendly and approachable (as are the prices, in my opinion!).

We tried a few things on their weekend brunch menu. We started with the fresh-baked buttermilk biscuits. The lavender-infused honey was absolutely DELICIOUS. I had the loaded croissant and Brian had the steak and eggs.

To drink, we had the Smokin’ Mary (with all the fixin’s) and Jam Don’t Shake Like That (estate mulled jam, jin, lemon, topo chico, and simple syrup). You can sit inside their beautiful farmhouse, or you can eat outside on their covered patios. Either way, you’ll get to experience gorgeous views of the surrounding property and old, drooping oaks.

Down the hall from Farmer’s Commons you’ll find The Vineyard’s tasting room! We had glasses of their Zinfandel and it was delicious. You can sit inside or you can sit on their patio and enjoy any of their rocking chairs or swings that are scattered around the property.

I can’t wait to go back the next time I feel like a nice weekend to get away without spending a ton of time or money! Farmer’s Commons paired with a glass of wine is such a fun experience if you feel like treating yourself to something a little extra special. Have you been? Did you even know this place existed??
PS: You can also STAY at the vineyard! How cool is that? The Vineyard at Florence – I’d love to cover your accommodations and add my review to the blog! Let me know 🙂
