Even before Voodoo Doughnut opened in Austin, I knew about the crazy doughnuts they served. There was a lot of hype building up to their store’s opening downtown on 6th street and I was looking forward to it.
They have the craziest doughnuts! There are huge, cake shapped donughts, cereal covered doughnuts, doughnuts that look like tacos… all kinds of craziness. If you really want a feel for this place, visit their website. These doughnuts fit right in with the Austin weirdness.
Inside the store, the line can be a bit long. Once you’ve made it through, you’ll be rewarded with fairly priced doughnuts. These aren’t like the $5 gormet cupcakes going around – these doughnuts start at 95 cents! But remember: VOODOO IS CASH ONLY. Hopefully you can scroung up enough coins from the bottom of your purse to get yourself a doughnut.
