Austin Eats Round-Up (ed. 7)

I often photograph my food, but sometimes I don’t have enough photos or content to make individual posts. So here’s the round-up of my latest Austin eats. In the last month or so, I’ve been to a couple of particularly cool places. Links to all the locations are included in the post. Previous editions can be found here: Austin Eats Round-Up

I’m going to say it: Terry Black’s Barbecue is the BEST BBQ I’ve had in Texas. I used to be someone who thought “bbq is just good! All bbq is good!” but NOT ANY MORE. Terry Black’s is a step above the rest. Their sides are of massive proportion. The brisket is something else. So freaking good.

I also had my photo featured in Austin 360 Eats. Pretty cool:

Next, it’s breakfast time. I finally visited Paperboy – the breakfast food truck in east Austin. I had their breakfast sandwich and was not disappointed. It has pimento cheese spread on it. That’s what made the difference.

Dessert! There’s a new gelato place at Rock Rose’s Northside called Frost. The gelato is good, but it’s the presentation that sets them above the rest. The have fruit, flowers, and other decorations inside their gelato case. It’s beautiful!

Also at Rock Rose is Salvation Pizza. They have amazing deals – $14 18 inch pizza and beer specials. Super fun, quick stop.

Over the summer, I went to the grand opening of Poke House. They were offering half priced burritos and bowls to celebrate their first day. I was super pleased with my salmon sushi burrito! They have a bunch of different things you can add to it, including flaming hot cheetos and an imitation crab mix. They also have some pretty great looking ice cream sandwiches.

Finally, I visited La Patisserie Bakery. They opened a shop on Burnet, a location much more convenient for me. We had some macarons and coffee outside on their cute black and white furniture.

Thanks for reading! I’m always looking for new places to visit! If you know of a really cool spot in Austin that I haven’t featured already, hit me up on Instagram @discoveringATX!
